This was a gift to MYSELF for my 65th birthday. I needed to modify my riding style a bit to accommodate growing older, but I did not want to give up the fun of riding, the smooth rolling, fast cruising, and quick handling. This bike fills the bill for everyone except the most competitive road racers- you can cruise comfortably all day at a good click and still put on a basket and rear rack and zip to the grocery store or other errands. It is also head-turningly gorgeous! I have the step-thru model in pearl white and silver, with chrome fenders. I added a female specific seat and that is the only modification I have made. Highly recommend this bike as an upgrade to your old 1097's "ten speed" or your 1980's heavy "mountain bike".
Bought this bike for my 24 year old son. He never owned a good bike before and he loves riding this one. The folks at my LBS were extremely helpful in guiding us to the right bike. I have also recently taken up cycling and now we can occasionally ride together. He wanted a bike for casual riding and not ready for a pure road bike so this bike provides a little of both along with comfort.
